Thorn is about 8 years old. He is half the dog he was when he came into rescue and is doing very well on his diet! His ears had been horridly neglected so we had surgery to fix them. He is the MOST lovable, cuddly, sweet boy you could ever want to meet! He has specific dietary needs and allergies that were the cause of the ear problems. Caring for him is not difficult! He loves to have his belly rubbed, go for rides in the car, and just be adored by you. He loves to romp and play with other dogs. Thorn will let you clean his ears, cut his nails, and most of all, adore him. Thorn has never met a person or dog that he doesn't call a friend. He is not an alpha at all and will fit in well in almost any family. We have spent literally thousands of dollars getting this boy healthy, and he is very happy to finally be there. Now he is just waiting for a great family to appreciate him. Dogs and puppies adopted from Homeward Bound come from home environments, as we utilize foster homes rather than operating a shelter. The animals are always vet checked, dewormed, microchipped and vaccinated, and all are spayed or neutered. Excellent pre and post adoption support is available to answer any questions you might have regarding care, behavior and training. Effective April 1, 2009 adoption fees will be $300.00. We must do this to offset the enormous vet bills that we are incurring for the dogs that we are taking in and the increase in normal veterinary fees.
